My Maine Coon was constantly overheating in the apartment, so I wanted something safe with no cords or plugs involved. This OEKO-TEX certified mat turned out to be exactly that: the moment she settles onto it, you can feel the warmth pulling out of her, and she stays dry instead of getting clammy and then chilled afterward. I'm only knocking off one star for the shipping — the packaging arrived crushed, the mat was balled up, and it took a while under some heavy books to get it flat again with the edges not curling up. Otherwise the materials are excellent, the weave is tight, the stitching is clean, and my cat figured out what it was for immediately and now naps there constantly.
A minor note: it was slightly creased while folded in the packaging, but it smoothed out quickly on the floor.

Figured we'd give this Fernpaw mat a shot, and honestly the difference floored us. The second she lies down, you can feel the heat pulling away from her body under your hand. No idea what the official cooling numbers are, but the material is just consistently cool to the touch, no matter how long she's been lying on it. What matters most to me is that she stays dry — good airflow underneath, zero condensation. We went with the biggest size and the cool zone is nice and roomy. I wasn't sure if all the technical cooling talk was just marketing, but I gave it a shot anyway. I've got two Maine Coons, and they genuinely struggle with the heat indoors in summer. Laid this Fernpaw mat out on the living room floor. First they just came over, sniffed around, wandered off. Then the younger one flopped down and basically melted into a puddle a couple minutes later. The fabric always feels cooler than the room, but stays dry itself — air clearly moves through the weave so they don't end up sweaty underneath. Washed it on delicate in the machine and it kept its shape fine. Great buy. Got the largest size and I'm already eyeing a medium one for the hallway.

Our Amstaff, Bucks, is built dense and muscular, and he's always struggled with heat. This mat has basically solved it — the moment he lies down you can feel him cooling off, which matters a lot for a breed like his. We got the largest size and it fits his bed perfectly. I also like that the listing is upfront about this not being a veterinary product — for everyday cooling after walks, though, it does the job beautifully. We rotate two of them: one's always in the wash while the other's down for him.
