The polyester is very wear-resistant and doesn't let water through at all, checked when we spilled a cup of tea. The size perfectly covers a double bed, the edges hang down and protect the sides from dirty paws. I've already washed it three times in the machine at 30 degrees and the color hasn't faded at all.
