I liked that no staples are needed. My kids often sit on the edge of the sofa, and now there are no sharp points there.
Put a piece on too low the first time and had to lift it a few inches higher. It peeled away clean, and the fabric wasn't the least bit tacky where it had been.
Good day. Thank you for your feedback. Before reinstalling, it's best to clean the surface of any dust for a smoother application.
The flexible material wrapped around the round armrest fine, but some creases are still noticeable.
Hello. Creases are possible on rounded edges, especially if the bend is sharp. We recommend applying the film gradually, smoothing it from the center outwards, and making small, neat cuts along the edge if needed.
The cat tried to scratch it but gave up quickly. The film is very slippery, and his claws just slide off.
Hello. Thank you for your review. The smooth surface really does make the scratching process unpleasant for pets.
We rearranged the living room and the protection needed to go on a different side, so we removed it. Honestly I expected a sticky residue left behind, and there wasn't one.
We bought this Fernpaw brand film to protect our new boucle sofa. Our cat, Basia, immediately took a liking to the corner. I had to fiddle with the application a bit since it's important to apply it without bubbles, but the result was worth it. The texture of the film is practically invisible; the sofa looks just like it did before. Basia jumped on the corner a couple of times but slid off and walked away. The product completely met my expectations; I'll be buying more for the armchair.
No hardware involved at all, which is what sold me on it. You press it down with your palm and that's the whole job, nothing goes into the upholstery.
Good day. Thank you for your feedback. The pin-free attachment method is indeed very convenient for preserving the fabric.
I stuck it on the corner of the sofa where the cat used to scratch the most. The film is barely noticeable, and claws just slide right off.
Hello. Thank you for your review. We are glad the clear film helped protect the most problematic corner of your sofa.
I doubted for a long time whether to get the clear Fernpaw film. We have a large boucle sofa, and two cats periodically used it as a gym. I stuck pieces on their favorite spots. The film isn't noticeable at all; claws just slide off it with nothing to catch on. The cats were disappointed, but the furniture is safe. The adhesive layer holds up fine on synthetic fabric.
The sofa is safe, and the film is barely visible. However, on light polyester, it creates a slight glare from the lamp, which ruins the look a bit.
Hello. Thank you for your purchase. The glossy texture is necessary for durability; we recommend diffusing direct light from lamps near the protected furniture.
I applied it to the corner of the armchair in the evening, and by morning the cat could no longer sink her claws in like before. I smoothed it out with a bank card, and there are almost no bubbles left.
One corner of our sofa curves outward quite a bit, and I honestly figured the film would just pop off there within a day or two. It's been almost three weeks now and the edge is still flat, no lifting at all.
Good day. Thank you for your review. The flexibility of the material is exactly what helps cover rounded areas of furniture.
The film is barely visible on the gray chair, but the cat still found the edge and caught it.
Hello. Edges can indeed attract a cat if they stick out slightly. We recommend trimming the film exactly to the shape of the area and thoroughly smoothing the edges after application.
It stuck on the first try to the cotton upholstery, and the cat just walks right past now.
Good day. Thank you for your review. We are glad the film adhered to the cotton fabric without any issues.
It does its job—the cat doesn't sharpen its claws anymore. The film is quite thick, but the back doesn't mention that it's meant for pets. A minor thing, but still unpleasant.
Good day. Thank you for your review. We will pass your comment on to the manufacturer regarding the packaging and product labeling.
The item arrived quickly. The packaging is intact, and the roll wasn't damaged during delivery.
Good day. Thank you for your feedback. We are glad the delivery went smoothly.
I applied it to an old sofa with thick fabric. I wiped the surface down first, then applied the film, and it went on without any wrinkles. I would buy it again.
Hello. Thank you for describing the surface prep; a clean, dry upholstery helps the adhesive layer hold more reliably.
It went on smoothly over the armrest, has been holding up for two weeks now, and isn't peeling at the edges.
Good day. Thank you for your review. For armrests, it's important to smooth the film well during application so the edge stays flat.
I rounded the edges with scissors so the cat can't hook the film with her paw. For the second month now, the corner of the sofa has been left in peace.
Great protection, but the film is a bit too stiff for our rounded armrests and doesn't hug the shape very willingly.
My first attempt went on crooked. I pulled it back slowly and lined it up again, which I was sure would kill the stickiness, but it grabbed just as well the second time around. The fabric looks untouched.
I took my time pressing it flat and worked outward from the middle. There are a couple of tiny bubbles if you hunt for them, otherwise it looks like a tidy job.
I only used it on the corners. It's perfectly sufficient for my problem.
Our Maine Coon is heavy and has strong claws, but the film held up. There are scratch marks on the armrest cover, but the fabric underneath is perfectly intact.
I was worried it would be shiny, but on a dark sofa, you can only see it under a lamp. The cat doesn't claw at the corner anymore and just walks right past.
Hello. Thank you for your review. We are glad the clear surface didn't ruin the look of your dark furniture.
I didn’t stick it on the velvet ottoman, as instructed, but it worked perfectly on a regular fabric sofa.
Good afternoon. Thank you for paying attention. You did the right thing by not using the film on velvet and choosing a suitable fabric surface instead.
The quality is excellent. Everything works as stated by the manufacturer.
Hello. Thank you for your review and high rating.
There's exactly one spot on the armchair she's obsessed with, so that's the only place I bothered covering. Money well spent, she barely acknowledges it anymore.
The sofa is out of danger, so no complaints on that front. My only gripe is the size of the individual pieces — they're smaller than I pictured, and on a chunky sofa like ours one square doesn't stretch across the whole corner.
The roll was enough for the whole sofa, very happy with the purchase.
It holds moderately well on cotton upholstery: the cat scratches less, but one piece slipped after cleaning.
Good afternoon. After wet cleaning, adhesion can weaken if moisture or cleaning product remains on the fabric. It’s best to apply the film only to a dry surface without lint or dust.
Protects the fabric from claws well. I think it would work on metal parts too, but I haven’t tried it.
Hello. Thank you for your comment. The adhesive layer is indeed suitable for smooth metal surfaces without damaging the finish.
A simple and effective product for the claw problem.
Hello. Thank you for the concise and positive review.
I covered only the lower part of the corner, where the cat reached with her paws. That was enough, the sofa no longer suffers.
Good afternoon. Thank you for your review. Targeted installation on the problem area often gives good results.
The adhesive bonded right away on cotton upholstery. After a week, the edges haven’t lifted.
The film is smooth, so the cat can’t get a grip. It looks neat, without making the sofa look like it’s under repair.
Everything is as described by the seller, applying it is simple and intuitive.
Hello. Thank you for your review. We try to make the installation process as clear as possible.
I liked that there’s no smell from the glue, unlike with cheap alternatives.
The sides of our armchair curve rather than sit flat. It followed the shape without me having to fight it into place.
It doesn't feel like much in your hand, but it takes a beating. On our cream sofa you'd honestly never know it was there.
The armrest itself was easy. What I worried about was the point where it turns down at the front, and even there it lies flat with no puckering.
Good afternoon. We’re glad the flexible material worked for the armrest and followed the shape of the furniture well.
The roll size is excellent. I had enough to cover all the corners on the sofa and still had some left for the armchair.
Good afternoon. Thank you for your review. It’s great that there was enough material for several pieces of furniture.
Fast delivery, the quality of the film is awesome. I recommend it to everyone whose cats tear up the furniture.
Went on over the polyester without any fuss. My cat gave it one exploratory swipe and hasn't bothered with that corner since.
I ordered it to protect the corners, everything works. I’ll recommend it.
Hello. Thank you for your review and recommendation.
I applied it below the armrest, where the cat would stand on her hind legs. There are no new scratch marks.
The material is thick: the cat ran her claws over it a couple of times and quickly lost interest.
It holds better than I expected on the wooden side of the armchair. The cat switched to the scratching post.
It sticks permanently if you degrease the surface well before installation.
We have two problem spots: the side of the sofa and the lower part of the armchair. The roll is easy to cut, so I made separate strips and didn’t cover anything unnecessary. Our cat Sima tried her old habit for a couple of days, then switched away. I especially liked that after removing a small test piece, the adhesive didn’t leave any stickiness behind.
We have two cats at home, Luna and Bella, both would periodically sharpen their claws on the armrest. I stuck the thick film on the very bottom section, where there were the most snags. They tried a few times, but the surface became too smooth for their claws. After a month, the edges haven't lifted, the furniture is intact, and I'm happy with the purchase.
Hello. Thank you for sharing your detailed experience, we are glad the film held up to use in a household with two cats.
Ordinary kitchen scissors handled it fine, no special tools needed. Measuring and cutting for every corner took me less time than making a coffee.
I needed two oddly shaped pieces because our two corners aren't the same. It takes a cut cleanly — no splitting or tearing along the line.
Hello. Thanks for the review, the film can indeed be trimmed to fit specific furniture areas with regular scissors.
I was looking for a way to protect my sofa corners without using bulky covers. This self-adhesive tape was exactly what I needed. My sofa is made of thick cotton, and the adhesive gripped perfectly. The corner is now shiny, but if you aren't looking closely, you won't even notice it. The cat tried to scratch it a couple of times, but the fabric underneath the film doesn't catch, so she quickly lost interest. Installation took about ten minutes. A great item for a home with pets.
Hello. Thank you for the detailed review. We wish your sofa a long and pleasant lifespan.
We used to use protectors with little fasteners that left holes in the fabric. With this one, I just peeled off the backing, placed the film, and smoothed it out. Our cat, Tom, has been walking past his favorite corner for a week now because there's nothing to catch his claws on. For me, the main thing is that the upholstery isn't punctured and still looks fine.
Good afternoon. Thank you for the review, we are glad the self-adhesive backing was convenient and kept your upholstery puncture-free.
We have two cats, so I covered both armrests at once. The material didn't tear after they tested it with their claws, and from a distance, the film almost blends right in with the gray upholstery.
Hello. Thank you for the review; for a home with multiple cats, the thickness and low visibility are especially important.
I didn't apply it to microfiber; I checked the sofa's material beforehand. I applied it to a fabric armchair without any issues.
That corner bulges out a bit, so I was fully expecting the edges to start curling within days. Nothing has budged.
Good afternoon. Thank you for the feedback; the flexible base helps the film conform to curved areas.
I covered our Mia's favorite spot on the back of the sofa. She walked up, touched it with her paw, and went straight to her scratching post. The film stays on the polyester without any extra staples.
Hello. Thank you for sharing such a helpful experience. We are glad the film adhered to the polyester upholstery and helped redirect Mia to her scratching post.
It's soft enough to bend, so the curved armrest turned out not to be the problem I'd imagined. These days the cat doesn't even slow down when she walks past it.
Good afternoon. Thank you for your review. The flexibility of the material really allows you to protect more than just straight edges.
I attached it to a metal leg with a fabric insert nearby; it adheres well to both surfaces.
Hello. Thank you for the details; we are glad the adhesive performed well on different materials.
I have two cats, and they both loved the same corner of the sofa. After applying the Fernpaw protector, their claws just slide off the surface and can't get a grip.
The protective layer is really durable; cat claws can't puncture it.
Simple to work with from start to finish. The couch is covered where it counts and that's all I wanted from it.
Our British Shorthair, Loki, claimed the left corner of the sofa and had noticeably frayed the fabric over a month. I taped up that exact spot and part of the armrest, cutting the film into two pieces. For the first two days, he still came over, swiped his paw at it, and left. Now he uses the scratching post next to it, and the film is holding tight without peeling.
Hello. Thank you for the detailed story; it's great that targeted protection of the corner and armrest helped switch Loki's attention to the scratching post.
Ours is charcoal grey and the only time you catch it is at an angle when the lamp hits it. Head on, you see nothing.
Great product for the money. I am 100% satisfied.
The total area sounds generous when you read it, but spread over a big sectional it disappears fast. I had just about enough and nothing left over.
Good afternoon. Thank you for your review. The dimensions are designed for standard furniture pieces; for large sofas, an additional pack might be needed.
Was skeptical since our old cheap protector didn't survive a week, but this one's noticeably thicker. No marks on the fabric underneath even after our cat had a go at it.
The chair leg was getting the same treatment as the upholstery, so a leftover scrap went on there too. It hasn't shifted since.
Hello. Thank you for the feedback. Before applying it to metal, it's a good idea to degrease the surface; the adhesion will be much more stable.
The film is great, it saved the sofa. But the adhesive holds only averagely on rough cotton, and one corner is already peeling.
Hello. Thank you for the review. For better adhesion to textured fabrics, we recommend thoroughly cleaning and degreasing the surface before applying.
The best part is that you don't have to look at it. Not one guest has mentioned it.
Hello. Thank you for your review. Transparency is one of the main advantages of this product.
Everything arrived neatly packaged, I will be ordering more.
I didn't buy this for the sofa, but for an old armchair with rounded armrests. The material turned out to be flexible enough, and I applied it along the curve without any wrinkles. Our cat, Mars, first tried to get a grip on the side, but then just lay down on top of it. Nothing has peeled off in two weeks, so I would definitely order it again.
I ordered this item for my leather chair without reading the instructions. I prefer to write honest reviews. I applied it at my own risk. I have to say, on smooth leather, it doesn't hold very tightly at the edges, but it does the job—the cat no longer scratches it. Next time I'll be more careful to read the specs.
Hello. Thank you for your honest review. Indeed, for leather furniture, we recommend using other protection methods, as the adhesive can behave unpredictably. We are glad that in your case, the pet issue was still resolved.
After we moved, my cat Nora started scratching the new sofa right on the front corners. I applied Fernpaw film to both sides right away, after first removing the dust from the fabric. On the first day she tested it with her claws about five times, but the fabric stayed intact. Now we barely notice the film, and the sofa looks just like before.
Good afternoon. Thank you for the detailed review. Cleaning the fabric before applying the film helps it stay smooth and last a long time.
Tested it on cotton upholstery, and it holds rock solid. I lifted the edge to adjust it, and it left no marks.
Hello. Thank you for sharing your experience. The adhesive formula really does work well with cotton-based fabrics.
Our sofa has a wooden panel down one side and I doubted the adhesive would take to it. Turns out it grips wood just as firmly.
Holds great on polyester. The corner of the sofa looks like new.
Sticks firmly, and it is almost as clear as glass. I took off one star because the edges didn’t come out very even; scissors won’t cut this film just like that.
Not a single hole in my couch, which is more than I can say for the last thing we tried. It stays up on its own and the furniture came through it unharmed.
It is very convenient that it comes in a roll and not separate pieces, so you can cut the size you need.
Good afternoon. Thank you for your review. The roll format really does give you freedom to choose the size of the pieces.
We have a light gray sofa made of regular fabric and a cat named Mila, who liked to stretch against the corner after sleeping. I applied the film in the evening, smoothed it with my palm, and left it. In the morning Mila tried a couple of times, but her claws did not catch. In the room, the protection is barely noticeable, and I am completely happy with it.
Good afternoon. Thank you for the detailed review. We are glad the film preserved the look of your light gray sofa and protected the corner.
The film really saved the corner of my new sofa from Murzik’s claws. I applied it in a couple of minutes without any nails. I’m happy with the purchase.
Hello. We are glad the film helped preserve your furniture. We hope you enjoy using it.
Goes on without pins, that part is good. On the rounded armrest the corner lifts. Film sold for sofas should account for sofas having curves.
Being able to size it yourself is the whole point for me. Each sofa corner got a piece cut to shape instead of some standard rectangle hanging off the edge.
Hello. Thank you for your feedback. Cutting it to the needed size helps cover exactly the spots your pet chooses for scratching.
There's a note about which fabrics to steer clear of and velvet is on the list, so I left the velvet pieces alone. On the plain woven armchair it behaved exactly as promised. Good of them to say so upfront rather than let you find out the hard way.
Hello. Thank you for paying close attention to the material recommendation; it helps preserve the furniture and the quality of the hold.
Our darling stopped scratching the sofa! I am very happy with the result.
I cut it into strips for a narrow armrest, and it came out neat. The scissors cut the material easily, the edges do not crumble, and the cat no longer hangs around there.
The film really works. The corners are intact, I recommend it to everyone.
I used it on the chair by my desk. My cat used to scratch it every evening; now her claw does not catch on the fabric.
Good afternoon. We are glad the film helped protect the chair in the spot where your cat touches it every day.
The roll was enough for a sofa and one armchair. I cut pieces for each area, which made it neater around the seams and curves.
Good afternoon. Thank you for your review. Custom cutting really does help cover areas around seams more precisely.
A great option for saving furniture from a pet, but at first it was very hard to peel it off the backing; the two of us struggled with it.
Holds great, the cat can’t tear it off.
The film is transparent, and the fabric pattern underneath it is clearly visible. The sofa does not look like it has been taped over.
Good afternoon. Thank you for noting the transparency; for this kind of protection, it is one of the important points.
I first tested it on a small area on the side, then covered the main corner. I didn’t see any marks on our fabric after removing the test piece, which is important.
Hello. Thank you for the sensible approach. Testing on a small area helps make sure the particular upholstery tolerates removal of the film well.
The film does not cover the color of the upholstery, so my wife did not even notice the protection right away. The cat noticed it faster and stopped sharpening his claws there.
Hello. Thank you for your review. The transparency helps preserve the familiar look of the furniture.
I bought it for a kitten who is just learning to use a scratching post. The sofa is still intact so far.
Hello. We are glad the protection helped during the period when the kitten is getting used to the scratching post.
I had to redo one section and it lifted away without a fight. Nothing came with it either — no glue, no fuzz pulled out of the weave.
Hello. Thank you for your rating. The adhesive layer is indeed designed for careful removal without leaving marks.
With a toddler crawling around the living room, anything metal poking out of the furniture was a hard no for us. There's nothing on this to jab anybody, and it still holds where I put it.
You really have to know it's there to spot it on a light couch. My cat sniffed around it the first day and hasn't paid it any attention since.
Good afternoon. Thank you for your review, we are pleased that the protector preserved the look of your light-colored furniture.
Stuck it on the wooden legs of the table, and now the cat avoids them completely. It holds on firmly, but gathers fine dust from the floor.
Put it on the corner of the armchair near the window where the cat sits every day. It works.
The price is a bit steep, but the film really works, the quality is excellent.
Got it for the wooden legs of a dresser. The cat used to jump on and scratch them. Now she just bounces right off with her paws.
Excellent protection. I will be buying more.
The cat stopped scratching the corners, and the transparency is great. I would give it five stars, but there was no special smoothing cloth included in the set, so we got bubbles.
Good afternoon. Thank you for your purchase. We will take your note about the kit into account for future batches; in the meantime, we recommend using a regular plastic squeegee.
Covered the one spot the cat had been working over for months. You'd have to be told it's there to notice it.
Hello. Thank you for your review of the Fernpaw protective film. We are glad it remained barely noticeable on the corner of your couch and helped with your cat's habit.
One piece was enough for the bottom of the corner, which I liked — no joins or overlapping edges for the cat to pick at.
Saved the corner of our new couch from our Maine Coon's claws. Stuck it on in a minute, and it holds incredibly well!
