I love this thing. Does exactly what it says. fits the door size well.
Our one-year-old kitten got into the habit of tearing up the carpet under the bedroom door, ruining it and waking us up in the middle of the night. For a couple of weeks I just got up when he started doing this and went to sleep on the sofa. Apparently, because of this I became nervous and twitchy. The carpet protector fit well and was easy to straighten by placing soda boxes on top. It worked the first night. The kitten meowed a little, but did not scratch. During the day, when the door is open, this is also a cool place for him to relax. I am extremely glad that I can now sleep through the night and the carpet no longer suffers.
I have a couple of cat snakes or carpet sharks, commonly called ferrets. We thought we had secured the house from them, but we have a corridor that ends with three doors, and the ferrets decided to find out what was behind them at all costs, and began to tear up the carpets just like cats. Unfortunately, we didn’t immediately figure out how to solve the problem for a long time, and they managed to significantly damage the carpet under the doors. We tried to put something in front of the door, but these cunning creatures always found a way to push it aside or get through (they are very smart). I wish I had thought of these rugs sooner. They really saved the situation: not only can the ferrets no longer ruin the carpets, they have completely lost interest in the doors and are again running around and hooting all over the house. A few points: the price is too high... as others have already written, you can do the same thing much more affordably in a hardware store, if you are not too lazy to cut it yourself... but these definitely work... they were also sent in giant boxes, but they were still wrinkled and did not want to straighten out... however, after a couple of minutes in a bath of hot water they quickly smoothed out and now lie well flat, no problems with two smart ferrets... remember: if they arrived wrinkled, just soak them them in hot water. Overall, I'm very glad that I found a solution to the problem... but I took off a star for the price. They should be at least twice as affordable.
Great product. Protects our brand new carpet from the cat. He even likes to sleep on this thing.
Just a super thing! I have a “cat room” with linoleum and carpet in the hallway. And when my cats got hysterical, they would reach under the closed door and tear up the carpet. My only regret is that I didn't buy this earlier.
We have carpet in our upstairs hallway that is long overdue for replacement, but it's not as urgent as other things around the house. It began to bloom near some doors, and it became an irresistible temptation for my four cats. And then they appear - they fit well under my standard doors! You just need to unfold them and put them in the doorway, they straightened themselves within a day. When I need to vacuum, I just lift them up and put them aside since they aren't glued to anything. So far they seem quite durable - they can easily withstand being rolled over on a chair or when I run a vacuum cleaner over them. In terms of functionality, they suited me well and completely solved the problem with cats, who now cannot tear up the shabby carpet.
It's great that they are already chopped. They're super easy to straighten out - I bought a bunch for our new house and just threw them all in a bowl of hot water for a couple of minutes. And then I just put it down and forgot - they don’t move or curl. We constantly walk on them, but they remain in place. Very dense and strong. Our cats have stopped scratching under the doors since we started using them, so this thing really works.
I took size 32 for a 32 inch door. There is a small gap in the corners, but so far this is not a problem at all. It's been lying there for about a week and a half, at first the cat looked closely and tried to claw it, but after a couple of days he gave up because now he can't reach the carpet. Didn't even try to climb into those open corners. For me, this is just a lifesaver, because the cat has already completely damaged the carpet like this. I wish I had bought this item sooner. Arrived a little bent, put it in warm water according to the instructions, now completely flat. I definitely recommend it.
Definitely a worthwhile purchase to save your floor
