The kitty approves, but I have to vacuum up the cardboard crumbs every day. Other than that, it's an excellent item.
Our Siamese girl figured out what it was for within minutes, and the sofa has been spared ever since. It ships with three replacement pads, which is generous. My only gripe is that the inserts fit the tray so snugly that swapping them out takes some real effort. Still, overall I'm quite pleased with it.
Got this specifically to save the furniture, and so far it's working, he's abandoned the sofa entirely in favor of the cardboard.

Louis is still a young Maine Coon but already big enough to wreck the flimsy scratchers we tried before. We unboxed this and left it in the hallway, and that same evening he kept wandering over, scratching at one end, then flopping down across the wave to rest. The cardboard hasn't sagged or collapsed under him at all, it's genuinely sturdy. I'll definitely be reordering the inserts when the time comes.
